Marathon Fishing Charters

Marathon is located about half way down the Florida Keys island chain.  The town of Marathon is a unique tropical city that stretches 10 miles long.  With its slow paced lifestyle it reflects the old keys way of life that has been rooted around fishing for over a hundred years. Marathon's conveniently located public airport makes it all the more accessible from anywhere in the world. It also has plenty of shopping and local bars so you will have everthing you need during your stay.  The Island of Marathon has some great inshore and offshore fishing just minutes away from the dock.  During the spring months Marathon is just about ground zero for the migrating Tarpon and their spawn that normally happens in the end of May and early of June.

What can I expect?

While fishing near Marathon you can expect to see bonefish and permit feeding up on the shallow clear flats.  During the Spring months Marathon is a great area to target the schools of giant Tarpon migrating south to spawn. It is any fly fisherman's dream to hook into one of these fish that are between 80-200 lbs. Just be sure to pracitice and bring your "A" game because these fish are pretty particular on where they want that fly to land.

Is the fishing in Marathon really that good?

Well fishing in Marathon definitely has some advantages to it.  During the Spring starting your trip from the Marathon area has an advantage of being just a short boat ride north to Islamorada. Or you can travel in the other direction to the seven-mile bridge that has the ability of being able to catch a "Grand Slam" all in the same location.
